November 2nd, 2004 @ Urawa Narciss

Bands in order: Sadi'sia, kaRura, Drugger, beaU, 12012, Panic Channel

Woo, my first time at Narciss, and the first time in weeks that I got to a live not just on time, but EARLY! Holy crap, I am proud of Ren and myself. Especially getting myself to a livehouse not exactly in the area. Narciss is in Saitama. So being early, there were only ten or so people waiting around outside (three of which I recognized as the Panic front-line girls) and we stood around looking at someone's clothes or something random... and TARA walked by! He was all super blinged out with a big hat and sunglasses and Vivienne shit hanging off every square inch of his body including a big honkin' Vivienne bag... smiling smugly to himself as if no one could recognize him! Ren and I just kinda dropped our jaws. The livehouse itself was underground, and we had to wait around in some garage above it... Weird. Inside Narciss was nice when it was fairly empty, but a bit cramped when more people showed up. There was a lower area, and the rest of it was about a foot higher with some bars in between. There was one teeny disgusting unisex Japanese-style toilet in the back, which to get to you had to shove by a million people and then wait in line to get to. Since we were one of the first twenty people in, we sat down on the floor in the raised level, behind the Panic girls.

The beginning bands were pretty bad. Why were Panic and 12012 stuck with these guys?? The first band, Sadi'sia, was absolute crap. Their visuals were typical old school, lots of vinyl and fishnets and dyed hair spiking everywhere. They looked good, but their music was also trying very hard to be old school, but they missed the point and were pretty much just loud noise. The vocalist would scream and scream... He was a good screamer, but it just was no good in general. When he wasn't screaming, you could tell that he only knew how to scream and not actually sing. They had about three people at stage, and one girl who was absolutely nuts, throwing herself at the stage and headbanging like she wanted to die. She even at one point jumped over the bar and stood in the space between the stage and the bar and did weird stuff for a while. Everyone sitting in the back (including us) remained sitting on the floor... I actually fell asleep despite the utter noise coming from stage. The three Panic girls were hilariously making fun of the band and their one psycho fan who, while throwing herself at the stage, was flashing everyone. The girls would all raise their hands simultaneously to block the panty shot, but in a way so it looked like they were doing furitsuke... they're funny.

The second band, kaRura, was made up of all support members except the bassist and drummer. What the hell? Then the support vocalist announced that the bassist was leaving the band (so only.... the drummer remained...) but then said they were just going to break up after that. Right! Sorry I don't remember much besides that. They weren't as bad as Sadi'sia, the vocalist had a good voice... Just nothing memorable.

Third band was Drugger and they were actually quite good even though they only had four fans. But the vocalist wouldn't shut up during their MC so it was annoying. They were also more traditional visual, but I can't remember much else or find any more information on them. We decided after them that we were going to get drunk, and got straight whiskey from the bar, which was at least three shots worth. Woo! Yes, that accounts for my not remembering much of this live.

We needed it to get through beaU, who were pretty funny actually, but in that hilarious scary way. While waiting for the members to come out, the guitarist ran from the back of the audience area in ONLY a pair of tights, screaming, then jumped on stage and ran backstage. The band was like an acid trip, all decked out in psychedelic colored outfits and makeup. One of them had his head half shaved, and the rest was brightly colored and braided. The guitarist kept yelling SEX over and over... What a weird band. They actually jumped off stage and were running around in the audience at one point. All the fans did this thing where they'd run from one side of the room to the other, in a big mass crashing into one another, while the guitarist was in the audience too. It was really hilarious to watch.

Then successfully retardedly tipsy, we ran to the front for 12012 and proceeded to make asses out of ourselves to amuse the fangirls. They thought we were funny, so we had moshpit-alliances. One girl and I bashed heads while headbanging and she just smiled widely, it was cute. 12012 was in their usual costumes, but they mixed up their set a lot tonight, starting with Venom instead of ending with it, and ending with.. OMFG... Boku no kara kara!! That was sooo nice because I've never heard them play it live. And we moshed insanely. I got some nasty girl's stiletto heel gouged into my ankle though... it actually drew blood! But lots of fun regardless.

Then it was Panikku! I haven't had such a gothy Panic moshpit since the oneman... it was HARDCORE. They were wearing their velvet outfits and the setlist was on the really heavy side. They played five songs, and were called out for an encore in which they played Nakigao fetish. I got petted by Meguru again... And I caught Kana's pick! My first Panic pick! Yay! The moshing was intense, mostly because a bunch of bratty schoolgirls were cannonballing evilly into our backs. I was bracing myself against the front row girls, trying to protect myself but also wanting to let them know I'm not the super nasty bitch trying to inflict pain on them. By the last song, they opened up a spot for me in the front row! So I too could get my guts bashed out on the bar! Woohoo! The members didn't do anything too memorably cute or funny, but it wasn't expected as it was gothy Panic... They just put out one of the most solid satisfying performances. :D
