![]() Panikku Channeru & PANIC*ch presents: Bands in order: Henzel, PANIC*ch Panic was doing a five days at MayKan; five two-mans in a row, alternating between *ch and Panikku. I wanted to go to all five, but thanks to my Miyawaki headache (see previous 12012 report!) I was too sick to even go to school, let alone a live. But I was okay enough for the rest of the week. I went to MayKan alone. Lives are boring when there's no one to go with. I spent an hour and a half staring at the walls and emailing everyone hoping for responses. Henzel was a half hour late starting, it was painful. Their set was painful too. Well I'm sure it would have been more fun if I knew the band's songs but they were just kinda odd.I was sitting down, so at first I only saw the bassist. But he was quite ugly enough that I tried to look around and even stood up for a little bit, because I didnft want to see just his face. They were all wearing black suits, and had pretty bad red eyeshadow on. The vocalist was cute but had an excessive amount of blush on. They were really energetic and had silly bouncy songs. One of the songs was particularly weird, where they... yelped... and then all the fans jumped sideways in the same direction, with their hands on each others shoulders like a giant congo line. They jumped back and forth... very bizarre. That was their member introduction song too. The vocalist MCed about Christmas and the traditional New Year's big cleaning. He was saying how he never had any time and forgot to do it. The bassist started screaming an MC, into the mic, just like WE'RE HAVING A ONEMAN!!! But it was totally needless, since he had a mic. He could have screamed without a mic and then it would have been funny, maybe, but that was just annoying. And he yelled for a very long time too. Their last song I somehow recognized, it was cute. I'm sure they would be an extremely fun band to see if you liked their music, but I couldn't wait for their set to end. Then it was PANIC*ch time, yay!! Takumi was wearing his lumberjack shirt and his hair down, his boyish look. Tsubasa had on his usual tanktop with really ripped jeans. Tara had his supertightpants with purple plaid mini skirt, and striped sweater. Kana was wearing a bright red Dickies jumpsuit covered in buttons. Meguru was wearing a white Dickies tshirt and blue windbreaker. He came out with a very tacky blue trucker hat on that he had pulled down so you couldn't see his eyes. However he took it off after the first song and put it on some girl's head. They were surprisingly energetic for it being their third live in a row! Meguru had an obsession with these rice crackers... He started off asking if anyone knew what "Happy Turn" was. Some people raised their hands and he was like "WOW YOU KNOW!?" He went on to explain that they were osenbei (a Japanese snack, rice crackers of some sort), and they were just SO GOOD everyone had to try them!! So he ran and grabbed a bag and started throwing them (in individually wrapped packages) into the crowd. Too funny! He just kept going on about them too. "You should try them! They're selling them in the convenience store down the street!" Everyone was laughing so hard. He said that just because he was the vocalist, he wasn't the only one that should MC, so he tried to get the other members to speak. Tara had announced on his webpage that he had come down with a sudden hearing problem, so he had big bandages on his ears. We all yelled for someone, as usual, but Kana and Tara were totally not talkative. They were just like "Hehehe... domo..." but Tsubacchi saved the MC with a very weird showing of... his boxers! What the hell. He lifted up his shirt to reveal the waistband of his boxers, which said "YG". He told us it meant "Young Guy" and Meguru said he wasn't a young guy and he was like "Yes I am!"... and they went back and forth like so. Weirdos. Tsubasa and Tara spent a lot of time being secretive together at the amp... Tsubasa at one point hit his elbow on Tara's bass, while they were standing in the shadows with their backs to the audience and Meguru was talking. Anyway, they played a dancey setlist which gave me a cramp in my side from not jumping around so much in a month! During Kataomoi, the whole band lined up (minus Takumi doing the drum beat of course) and tried to do the dance, but Tara never remembers it, that was super cute. They played two new songs, "Kimi to..." and "one's life". Kimi to was written for Christmas, and is the cheesiest sappy love song ever. It appears to be *ch's first ballad, very pretty and emotional and CORNY! I love it. One's life is a lot like Zassou~be awake~, harder rock with some rappy bits but also a VERY good song. 1) Zassou There were no encores or extended bits but I guess that sort of thing would be too much for 5 days! It was a great time anyway. |
