thought~heart~As'REALLyrics: Hidezou Music: Mai Your warmth revives memories from childhood. Because of the nostalgia, blood flows. Soon, at the end of time, you'll come to meet me, right? I'll at least offer this flower, this flower to you. I'll look into your eyes until I die, But I won't forget. I can't see through My overflowing, spilling tears, You, flying to the distant other side. Because I don't forget, because I don't forget, if I don't forget... Goodbye, goodbye, I'm confused. On the rainy days and the windy days, I kept walking, I kept searching. Because I don't forget, because I don't forget, if I don't forget... Surely we can meet again, It is the dream of another dream. To the distant other side... Notes: The title of the song is using possibly the two vauguest words in the Japanese language: omo(u) "to think or feel from memory", and kokoro "heart, mind, or spirit". There is no possible equivalent for the two combined in English, as it contains implications of all of those. This song is so sad and beautiful :( I've rearranged some lines because of the way Japanese grammar is. The original lyrics are also written in a way that sentences continue on multiple lines.. gave me a headache until I realized that. Pay attention to the punctuation I used, it will make the most sense then. Another thing worth noting is the fact that he uses the kanji "to cry" (na.ku) in the "wasureNAkereba"... This isn't "normal" Japanese, as the phrase without the kanji simply means "if I don't forget." But it's once again used as a double meaning, as in "if I forget and cry"... or something. He also uses this kanji in place of the normal blood flowing kanji in the beginning; as in "I cry blood". Oh so gothy. |
